Philanthropic Focus
Since the beginning, DSVP partners have been interested in helping at-risk children and supporting innovations in education. Today, we still give to missions that are aligned with those areas. Our Social Investment Portfolio is decided upon by our partners through the Investment Committee process. Our Portfolio represents a diverse group of agencies that serve children and education. Some of the agencies are new and others are seasoned; some have an operating budget of less than $100,000 and others have budgets over $1 million. Each represent a different approach to the issues that face North Texas children, and each are agencies that we feel we can make a difference.
Probably the most important aspect considered when making the decision to invest is “how will they use the partnership?”. This along with compatibility of leadership structure are the two biggest things considered aside from viability and relevance of mission.
