David Wood, Director of the Initiative for Responsible Investments at Harvard University and Author of the “Handbook on Responsible Investment Across Asset Classes”
Director of Harvard University’s Initiative for Responsible Investment, David Wood believes responsible investment strategies will bring both new capital and new ideas to solving complex problems. He has recently lead a series of projects exploring emerging issues for social investors such as fixed-income investment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate disclosure, real estate investment, and offshore SME investment. A member of the Board of The Forum for Sustainable & Responsible Investment, Wood has also helped develop the Responsible Property Investing Center.

Author of “Disrupting Philanthropy: Technology & the Future of the Social Sector” and “Creating Philanthropic Capital Markets,” Lucy Bernholz is a noted analyst of the philanthropic industry. She consults with corporations and individuals who want their giving to be impactful and serves as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Her blog, Philanthropy 2173, has been called a “philanthropy game changer” by The Huffington Post and was named a “Best Blog” by Fast Company Magazine.

A pioneering social entrepreneur and expert in nonprofit sector innovation, Dan Pallotta’s “Uncharitable: How Restraints on Nonprofits Undermine Their Potential” has been acclaimed by The New York Times, The Economist, and The Stanford Social Innovation Review. He is the founder of Advertising for Humanity and the Charity Defense Council. Pallotta is a William J. Clinton distinguished lecturer and a regular contributor to The Harvard Business Review Online, where he writes about transforming the nonprofit paradigm.

Stanford Social Innovation Review’s 2010 feature, “Collective Impact,” asserts that large-scale change requires broad, cross-sector coordination. Dallas is home to several such programs who share the ambitious mission of improving student educational achievement.
